  • Introduction

    Welcome to That’s Not Me.

This campaign started after a journalist from Denmark got in touch with me and alerted me that scammers were using my photos on dating apps and websites to trick people into giving them money. It was unsettling. Even though I had nothing to do with it, my face was part of the lie. It felt like a violation, because it was.

The more I looked into it, the more I realised just how common this is. People across the world are having their images stolen and used in scams they know nothing about. And often, they don’t even find out until it’s too late.

That’s Not Me is here to do something about it.

This site is a space to:

    • Share the reality of what it’s like to be impersonated online
    • Support people impacted by these scams, whether you’ve been impersonated or scammed yourself
    • Push for real change, from better platform responsibility to stronger legal protections
    • Help others spot and avoid image-based scams before they happen

It’s early days, but this matters. I want this campaign to grow into something that genuinely helps people, and holds the right people accountable.

If you’ve been affected, have an idea, or want to support the campaign in any way, I’d love to hear from you, just drop me a message at tamzinburch@gmail.com.

    Thanks for being here.
